Bryan Kidd is the head of the Composing and Arranging Staff of the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C..  He is also a nationally published composer and arranger for a wide variety of music ranging from the professional to the beginning and secondary school levels.  He is among the recipients of ASCAP’s Standard Award for his compositions in the educational field for the last two years.

A native of Waynesboro, Virginia, Mr. Kidd holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music (Shenandoah University) in Winchester, Virginia.  Prior to joining the Navy Band, he was the Band Director at Hayfield Secondary School in Fairfax County, where he taught on both the junior and senior high school levels.  His role as a music educator continues as a private woodwind instructor, adjudicator, clinician, and guest conductor.  He is the founder and director of the Eastern Prince William County (Youth) Jazz Ensemble, and as the volunteer director of the Saunders Middle School Jazz Ensemble in Prince William County, Virginia.
