Robert E. Foster Jr. was born January 22, 1966. While completing a successful collegiate football career at the University of Kansas as a three year letterman, he received his B.M.E. from the University of Kansas. He then received a M.M.E. from the University of Illinois, and has done additional graduate work at the University of North Texas and the University of Kansas. He is presently the Director of Bands at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas. Prior to this position, he served five years as the Associate Director of Bands at Texas Christian University, and was the Interim Associate Director of Bands at the University of Maryland.

Mr. Foster has written and published several concert band compositions and has written more than 70 marching band arrangements. He is also sought after as a marching band clinician, drill writer, and arranger throughout the Midwest. Additionally, he holds memberships in N.B.A., C.B.D.N.A., and Kappa Kappa Psi.
